in 2018 we invited photographer mathieu cocho to capture our projects as an experimental and reflective documentation of the completed and lived-in spaces.

this collaborative process began with a conversation about the project concept and intent - mathieu was then left to discover the space himself. mathieu was interested in capturing the less-expected moments within the projects, as sub-conscious realisations of the concept.

for our projects ‘orange’ and ‘chelmsford’, mathieu explored how he could capture architecture beyond just aesthetics.

mathieu, who is a self-taught photographer says of this process “Photography is my way to connect with people and my surroundings. As the photographer, I want to understand the intent of the architect, with the project, and the core ideas; these images are an attempt to capture how they are delivered.”
